I'm Lauren Henry, a multidisciplinary UX/UI designer

I am interested in the fusion of art, design and technology in creating innovative and meaningful solutions. I care about the details, and at the forefront of my practice is a focus on balancing user and business needs to create delightful and intuitive designs.

My story

I have experience as a senior school teacher across the subject areas of Visual Arts and Technology, with a rich background in graphic design, photography and digital technologies. After 6 years in the teaching industry, I decided to pivot my career to venture into the world of UX/UI Design.

I have experience working agile in a cross-functional squad as the sole designer, where I worked closely with the trio (Product Manager and Tech Lead) contributing to squad roadmaps. I have been exposed to creating solutions for both mobile (React Native) and React Web, actively communicating with mobile and web developers and a range of stakeholders across the business.

In my spare time...

I have a small side hustle where I experiment across a range of disciplines including digital illustrations, resin, water colour painting, photography and graphic design. Head over to the 'Play' section of my portfolio to check out my practice!

Teaching background

Throughout my teaching career, I gained valuable leadership and presentation skills that directly relate to the field of UX/UI. I have experienced the value of collaboration between students, teachers and staff, and my strengths lie in workshop facilitation and adapting content to suit a diverse range of learning styles and individuals.

I have learnt the value of adaptability in different environments and I have a strong fascination with user behaviour, and how I can produce valuable and positive experiences for individuals.
